5.0 Customer Responsibility
5.1 Water Level
It is the Customer’s responsibility to maintain proper water level in the pool at all times. Pools utilizing an automatic water leveler need to be monitored by the Customer. If it appears the leveler is not operating properly the Customer should advise TexanComfort of the problem and add water manually until the next scheduled service visit. TexanComfort may adjust or replace the necessary parts as needed.
If the pool does not have an automatic water leveler, the Customer is to manually add water to maintain the proper level.

(diatomaceous earth) filters, backwashing will be used only as a last resort.
If the pool requires a remote pump to lower the water level TexanComfort will schedule a visit for this action. An additional service charge will apply.

6.2 Diatomaceous Earth Filters (D.E.)
TexanComfort monitors the pressures of the filters on a weekly basis. Backwashing is performed when either time (since the last backwashing) or a marked increase in pressure is observed.
As the quantity if diatomaceous earth expelled during backwashing is unknown, TexanComfort will attempt to approximate the proper quantity of D.E. powder to add after backwashing to prevent D.E. from entering the pool.
6.3 Diatomaceous Earth Filter Maintenance
It is recommended D.E. filters be disassembled, inspected, and cleaned thoroughly at least twice per year.  TexanComfort provides this service for an additional charge if the Customer does not wish to clean the filter.  If the Customer declines regular filter cleaning, the responsibility of chemical and algae control by TexanComfort may be limited.
6.4 Cartridge Filters - Single Element
Single element cartridge filters with an effective filtration area of less than 200 sq.ft. will be cleaned as part of the service agreement.  TexanComfort will monitor the pressure, disassemble, and clean every three months.
Cleaning consists of filter disassembly and rinsing element with a garden hose. If a hose is not available on the property, TexanComfort will provide the hose and schedule cleaning on the next service visit.
Filters requiring frequent cleanings may indicate a problem with the equipment. TexanComfort will contact the Customer if this condition exists.  Additional charges may apply if the cartridges require frequent cleanings.
6.5 Cartridge Filters - Multiple Element
TexanComfort will monitor the pressure of multiple cartridge filters on a weekly basis. As multiple element filter cleaning is an additional service, the Customer will be contacted prior to the filter requiring service.  TexanComfort will monitor the pressure, disassemble, and clean every three months.
TexanComfort provides this service for an additional charge if the Customer does not wish to clean the filter.  If the Customer declines regular filter cleaning, the responsibility of chemical and algae control by TexanComfort may be limited.
